For Ages:
2 to 6 yrs.
Purpose:
This activity will help their eye/ hand coordination. They will also be able to use their imaginations and create something on their own.

Materials:

1 package of foam door hangers. The package I found at a dollar store had 2 door hangers in it. You can also buy them at any craft store.

1 package of multicolored foam shapes

1 package of multicorored foam alphabet letters

1 small bottle of washable liquid glue

Instructions:
You can have your child sit at the table. I always try to have them work on an old plastic place mat or old cookie sheet.
We got out the blank foam door hanger. I helped the younger children find the letters in their name and glue the letters onto the hanger in the right order.
I then let them find different shapes to glue on to the hanger to decorate it. As they selected the shape to glue on, I would ask them the name of the shape as well as the color of it. In this way, I was able to reinforce both the shapes and color words. They decorated both sides.
When the glue was dry, they got to hang it on their door knob.
This craft is liked by both the boys and girls. They could make and give them as gifts to other family members. Have fun!
